Recultivation of settling pit Olešník - MAPE Mydlovary

The objective of the dissertation is to examine the method and the present state of the recultivation of the settling pit Olešník, to evaluate the process of the natural succession on this locality, to compare this state with the surrounding countryside and to examine the possible integrating of the settling pit to the countryside.

Bachelor thesis is focused on landscape restoration in abandoned qarry Rieka Kraľovany II. where the mining activity was provided in the years 1967 - 2015, in two time periods. Attention is paid on characteristic of the region, history of Rieka quarry and natural succesion after finishing mining activities. Description of the main changes of landscape due to stone mining is based on comparison of historic and present maps, and also from legwork. The legwork was carried out in two phases and describes in detail the growth of vegetation in two sections of quarry. Thanks to these informations there is explained the use of different methods of reclamation as well as the selection of the best one and also a probable future development and land use of the area.

It is focused on distinct opinions relating to human caused environmental damage slicking. The operative part describes one of the largest middle Europe dump recultivation -- Radovesická dump.
